What is prayer? Some say it is a waste of time, others say it is talking to our Father. What is it really?

According to “The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language” prayer is”

prayer (prâr) n. 1.

• a. A reverent petition made to God, a god, or another object of worship.
• b. The act of making a reverent petition to God, a god, or another object of worship.

We recited it in Church.

We have read it in the Bible,

We have referred to it as The Lord’s Prayer, The Model Prayer, and other names have been given to it through the years.

What does it mean?

Christ teaches how to pray

Let us take a look at what has just become another excuse for a three day weekend. Labor Day was created by the Union to honor and reward the worker for the labors he or she did through the year. Now we seem to forget that it is the labors we do in our daily lives that makes living worth it. We labor for a paycheck, vacation, etc., but we also need to remember and sometimes to be reminded our biggest labor in our lives is laboring for our Creator, Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Wake up America and start laboring strong for HIM as we need to follow in Christ’s foot steps as Jesus said “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 (KJV)
