Standard Podcasts [ 28:58m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download | Embeddable Player | Hits (4)We memorized it as children.
We recited it in Church.
We have read it in the Bible,
We have referred to it as The Lord’s Prayer, The Model Prayer, and other names have been given to it through the years.
What does it mean?
This is what I am talking about:
From Matthew
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matt 6:9-13 (KJV)
From Luke
Christ teaches how to pray
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Luke 11:1-4 (KJV)
Let us take a look at The Lord’s Prayer as it was given to us by Christ. Labor Day was created by the Union to honor and reward the worker for the labors he or she did through the year. Now we seem to forget that it is the labors we do in our daily lives that makes living worth it. We labor for a paycheck, vacation, etc., but we also need to remember and sometimes to be reminded our biggest labor in our lives is laboring for our Creator, Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Wake up America and start laboring strong for HIM as we need to follow in Christ’s foot steps as Jesus said “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 (KJV)
